Agricultural partnerships

Fair trade coffees

At Ursae, we believe in equitable partnerships with our partner coffee farms. Our commitment to direct trade is at the heart of our concern.

We source coffees rated SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) at 86 points or higher, a guarantee of exceptional quality. These coffees come from smallholder farming communities, where each bean is grown with care and dedication. We strongly believe in sustainability, and that's why we partner with farms that share our environmental and social values.

Every partnership we establish is based on transparency, respect and trust. We strive to support farmers and their families by providing them with fair prices for their harvest. Additionally, we work closely with our partners to promote sustainable agricultural practices, thereby contributing to the preservation of the land and surrounding ecosystems.

  • San Marcos (Guatemala)

San Marcos, Guatemala comes from a small farming community located over 1,372 meters (4,500 feet) above sea level. Coffee grown at these altitudes matures slowly and becomes harder and denser than beans grown at lower altitudes, with an inherent consistency and rich flavor attributes. The coffee is hand-sorted to remove defects.

Our San Ignacio Peru Norte coffee comes from smallholder farms. Producers typically grow coffee on just a few hectares of land, interspersed with shade trees, bananas, corn, and beans. They carefully harvest and sort the cherries before pulping, fermenting, washing, and drying the coffee using their own micro-mills. Partnering with CENFROCAFE not only supports its members’ business efforts, but also facilitates the development of their communities. CENFROCAFE’s financial team provides short-term credit that helps farmers cover the upfront costs of harvesting and materials in coffee production.
