Giffard blackberry syrup
Description
Blackberry syrup is a pure sugar syrup made from concentrated blackberry juice.
The blackberry, an edible fruit from the common bramble, grows wild throughout Europe and many other parts of the world, but Mexico is the world's leading producer. Used in naturopathy and sometimes as a dye, the blackberry is very widely used in food. Whether in jams, jellies, or desserts, its use in the production of drinks, liqueurs, or syrups is mentioned in the London Pharmacopoeia as early as 1696.
